Adriano Bastida wanted to become a doctor. He wanted to finish med school and become a great doctor. He wanted to teach himself to play guitar. He wanted to fall in love, get married, and have a dozen kids, like the Latino VonTrapps. He also wanted to save enough money to move out of the slums, and buy a huge old farmhouse out in the country.
But for now, he was alone and pennisless. He lived in a ramshackle old cabin near the railroad tracks, with his loyal German Shepherd, Jimi.
It wasn’t easy to find a woman to fall in love with, either. Although the town of Misty Creek seemed to have many attractive young women, Adriano just couldn’t find one that was right for him. He went out for dates nearly every weekend, but something always seemed to go wrong.
